The Thunder Bay and District Humane Society is looking to fill a void for people in the market for a local calendar featuring cats and dogs.
The Keri Chase Foundation produced a pet calendar for 10 years, but the final one was released last year. With those calendars set to expire, the Humane Society is introducing its 2014 edition.
The calendar makes a nice stocking stuffer at $10 apiece, and showcases the animals that you can adopt from the Humane Society shelter on Rosslyn Road.
Officials at the the Humane Society say it's always a struggle to raise enough funds every year to support the animals they take care of.
So when one of their employees suggested they make a calendar and use all of their animals as the stars, the idea took off.
The calendars will be up for sale at various locations around Thunder Bay, including Wal-Mart, PetSmart and Pet Valu.
Humane Society officials hope it can become an annual event.
