City residents will be braving the cold to help the homeless next month.
The second annual Coldest Night of the Year walk is being held in support of Grace Place on Simpson Street. And Thunder Bay is one of 64 cities across Canada joining the fight against homelessness and poverty.
Last year the local event raised $31,000 and generated 20 teams of 150 walkers.
This year Grace Place hopes to double those statistics.
The walk comes in three lengths in the downtown south core. And organizers hope the walk falls on a night that doesn't live up to the event's cold title.
The walks will take place on Feb.22.
Donations of canned food, clothes or money are also being accepted at the Grace Place locations.
