More than 300 motorcycle riders will again be revving their engines this June for a good cause.
The 13th annual Ride for Dad campaign launched Tuesday. The annual event is in support of prostate cancer research and treatment, and this year it is being held at the Victoria Inn.
Since the Ride began in 2001, the motorcyclists have raised more than $740,000, and have also helped to get the word out to prevent the disease.
One in six men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime, and early detection can ultimately mean a better outcome.
Health Sciences Foundation President Glenn Craig says the money raised will go directly to those battling prostate cancer here in Thunder Bay.
The Ride for Dad is set to take place on June 15. Pre-registration will be held on Saturday May 4 at CARSTAR Collision Centre $45, and on-site registration is available the day of the event for $50.
