Another Girl Power Conference will try to help empower young girls and give them a judgement-free zone to try out new activities.
The 10th annual conference is set for May 11 at Confederation College.
Organizer Melissa Walczak says there’s workshops for everything from healthy eating to yoga. “If we get the girls moving when they’re younger, boost their self esteem and get them participating in recreation, then it tends to carry out for the rest of their lives,” Walczak said during an interview with CKPR Radio Thursday.
The conference is for girls in Grades 5 through 9 and comes with a $25 registration fee.
More information about the conference can be found online here .
