THUNDER BAY --Ontario’s Trillium Foundation will provide grants of $310,000 to a trio of social service organizations in this city.
MPP Bill Mauro (Lib., Thunder Bay - Rainy River) made the funding announcement at the Shelter House Thursday afternoon.
The Shelter House is one of the recipients of the Trillium grant, and will receive $150,000 to hire workers for the next two years to staff their Kwae Ki Win harm reduction program.
The local John Howard Society will be using its $130,000 grant to replace 48 windows, which were installed more than 60 years ago, with new energy efficient windows.
Finally, Harbour Youth Services will be using a $30,000 grant to hire part-time staff for an adolescent after-school program.
