THUNDER BAY -- The city of Thunder Bay has revealed this summer’s upcoming events.
Summer in Thunder Bay is always a lively one and with the many free events hosted by the city it just can't get any better.
This year, the city is promising another season of high-quality events. Some of the 2016 event talent highlights include Canada Day- a performance by "Poor Angus", the Teddy Bear picnic, and Live on the waterfront, which was formerly known as Summer in the Parks.
The band, Honest Heart Collective played some tunes as something to look forward to during Live on the waterfront.
Meanwhile, two local events were also handed out awards. Food Frenzy won the "Best Youth Initiative” award with Teddy Bears Picnic being recognized as one of the Top 100 festivals and events in Ontario.
Councillor Rebecca Johnson said these events wouldn't be possible without the assistance of their sponsors and volunteers. Volunteers like Tracy Hurlbert who was awarded for her volunteerism in the Teddy Bears Picnic event.
The summer event season kicks off this Sunday with the Kite festival from 12:00 p.m. to 4 p.m.
