THUNDER BAY - It was a special day for the graduating Practical Nursing students at Confederation College.
The nursing students received their pins Thursday, an official welcome into a world of giving selflessly of themselves to help others.
All dressed in white, 44 nursing students excitedly waited to receive their pins. Some having dreamt of this moment for a very long time.
It’s a ceremony deeply rooted in tradition. The students dressed in vintage nursing uniforms receive a pin that signifies much more than the successful completion of the program.
The nursing students will have another graduation ceremony to receive their diplomas, however, for many, being awarded their pins is the more special of the two events.
Nursing is known for being both a physically and emotionally demanding profession, and while the students are excited about their future, they have been prepared for the hard times too.
