THUNDER BAY - A picture says a thousand words and students at École Gron Morgan are learning that through the study of photography.
The Thunder Bay Art Gallery is displaying the kids' photos in their exhibition Friday called Every Picture Tells a Story.
The photos were powerful. The project was a way for students to explore emotion, and get creative in an art form that is not usually taught in elementary school.
The students were given direct education on photographic principles and camera use over a five week period.
Students from Kindergarten to Grade 8 took on the role of photographer.
Thanks to the digital age, teachers said they had no major issues operating a professional camera.
The exhibition is on display until June 26 with an opening reception night planned for next Wednesday.
